Hotel Indigo is located in the Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District, adjacent to the National Convention and Exhibition Center. The hotel design draws upon inspiration from the culture of the city.
While designing the lighting for the hotel, we endeavoured to capture this essence of this in the outside facade lighting, within the lobby and within each of its 228 rooms.
A Retro Entrance.
When you step into the hotel lobby, you are greeted by red retro lockers, various ornaments including seagulls, cameras, red pianos and western clocks.
These ornaments are full of the culture of the Old Shanghai Era, and are displayed in a way that create an atmosphere similar to Oriental Paris in the 1930's.
Bedroom Brilliance.
The 228 rooms were designed with incredible detail. To bring attention to this carefully designed details, we used accent lighting to bring to light these striking details.
The bedside tables are manufactured using gold metal, with further inspiration from the 1930's and also chosen to add a subtle sense of elegance to the room. The chandelier above the living area uses a similar style, feature semicircular metal lined with semi-circular glass.
